The process includes following high-level steps and may take a few weeks to complete.

• ENT consultation
• Radiology Tests – CT scan and MRI
• Detailed audiology test
• Product identification
• Counselling – regarding benefit, usage, care, mainte nance, cost of implant
• Follow-ups with doctor and Audiologist& speech therapist

Test

Following tests are advised.

• Hearing tests
• Imaging tests
• Hearing aid response test ( Aided Response Test)

Treatment

The treatment includes surgery and instruction regarding use of the implant connection of processor. Young children may need additional counselling and training sessions. The mapping process will continuously monitor the implant. Aural rehabilitation plays a significant role in post-cochlear implant surgery. MHS staff is specially trained under the cochlear implant intervention program speak for the team’s dedication towards the profession and clients.
