BORN ON THE RACETRACK

Kapil Shelke, the founder and current CEO of Tork Motors was very passionate about automobiles right from his childhood days. He would collect electric remote controls and open them up with pet kits available in the market in those days. It was in his college days, where he saw videos of “ The Isle of Man” which pushed him to make an electric sports bike that could dominate the race track.

At the time, it was just a bunch of engineers with one man’s vision to build an Electric Racing Bike which could win on a track that was criticised to be, one of the most dangerous tracks in the world. Tork Motors built Asia’s first electric racing bike to compete in the Isle of Man Electric GP which was named “T1X”, that then went on to win a 3rd Position on the podium, representing India’s electrifying future in this sector.

Learning from our previous races and having the racing DNA pumping in our veins, our passion to race an electric two wheeler was never less. It was then TTXGP started a revolution to build a zero-carbon, clean emission race to take place at the Isle of Man TT. To compete Tork built an improved electric racing bike the “T2X”, which later went on to mark history, of winning all the races in the TTXGP.

Kapil still wanted to build an electric racing bike, which was not possible at Agni Motors. That is when a Chinese company Zhongshan approached Kapil to build an electric racing bike for their European Team. All these electric bikes made by the team found their place in the winning positions in all the races. Building T4X and T5X was a brilliant move from Tork as they were the vehicles that marked the victory of Tork Electric Motorcycle’s era

Kapil wanted to build an all indigenious product and didn't want to be dependent on the rest of the world for a powertrain technology. He couldn't find a product that was exciting and dependable at the same time. He then took it upon himself to put India at par with all the major competitors and build a 100% new AXIAL FLUX MOTOR from scratch right here in India.

The AXIAL FLUX Technology gives a high rate of efficiency at 96% even over a wide speed band, it is also forced air cooled , which allows a longer and better ride to our consumers without ever worrying about heating of the motor.

Our electric two wheeler has undergone a process of enormous testing and immense changing and adaptation of various components. Our primary focus was to build a durable and lasting technology for India, that could have multiple applications be it in the 2W or 3W segment. Through our extensive RnD we were able to develop a Powertrain that was capable of handling intense Duty Cycles while hauling heavy loads of Cargo or Passengers. Our aim is to help OEM’s with this power train and also supply them so that we can reduce our collective dependency on foreign technology and leave a mark on the Global Scale of EV Technology.
